What happens if my shipment is already in transit and I need to change the delivery address? How we handle reconsignments
A reconsignment (also known as recon, diversion, reroute or return to shipper) happens when a shipper requests that freight that is already in transit be redirected from the originally planned delivery location to a new delivery location.
If you need to reconsign a shipment, please contact Mothership by submitting a ticket on your dashboard.
There is typically a reconsignment fee for correcting the documentation with a partner carrier as well as additional transportation charges for moving the shipment from the current location to the new address. Our team of support specialists will provide you with the revised quote to have the freight rerouted when you reach out.
Please note: When shipping with one of our partner carriers, it can typically take 24-48 hours to have the freight redirected with the partner carrier so your estimated delivery date can be delayed.
